Professional Background

What inspired you to become a mortgage lender?
I was seeking a new opportunity where my existing skills would allow me to thrive while I mastered the intricacies of the mortgage industry. More importantly, I was motivated by the desire for a fulfilling and rewarding career where I could make a meaningful impact.

What do you enjoy most about helping customers with home financing?
I love building genuine relationships with my clients, earning their trust, and guiding them through one of the most significant financial decisions of their lives. Seeing them gain confidence in their choices and knowing I played a role in that is incredibly rewarding.

Do you specialize in any particular loan products?
I specialize in a variety of residential mortgage products, including conventional, FHA, USDA, and VA loans. Citizens Bank also offers outstanding new home construction and renovation loan options that are making a real difference in the community.

Are you involved in any industry organizations or have certifications?
Yes! I’m actively involved with MIBOR, the Central Indiana Realist Association, and The LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance.

Personal Approach

What’s one piece of advice you always give to homebuyers?
Making just one extra mortgage payment a year can shave seven years off a 30-year loan. Small, consistent efforts like this build equity faster and significantly boost your net worth over time.

If you could describe your approach to mortgage lending in three words, what would they be?
Transparent. Client-Centric. Educational.

Do you have a favorite success story from helping a homebuyer?
One of my early referrals came from an open house. While the client ultimately chose another lender, they trusted me enough to refer their sister to me—proving the power of relationships. Another standout moment was helping a couple mid-close who had been misled by another lender on fees. I quickly got them approved for our renovation loan, saving them money on closing costs while still meeting their deadline. Their real estate agent, whom I had persistently followed up with, saw firsthand how I step in when obstacles arise, and it strengthened our working relationship.

Life Outside of Work

What are your hobbies and interests?
I enjoy golf and woodworking, and thanks to my wife, I’ve become an avid reader. Spending time with her and our dogs is always the best part of my day.

Do you have a favorite local spot?
The Indianapolis airport! It’s clean, full of history, and more importantly, if I’m there, it means I’m heading off on another adventure with my wife and friends. Traveling and expanding my perspective is something I’ll never get tired of.

What’s a fun fact people might not know about you?
I’ve visited more countries than U.S. states! It all started in high school when I spent a summer in Europe as a student ambassador. Since meeting my wife, that love of travel has only grown—so much so that I’m bound by my wedding vows to take her out of Indiana at least every two months.

What do you love most about living and working in this community?
I’ve always believed in prioritizing relationships over transactions and making ethical choices over financial gain. Working at a community bank allows me to truly be there for my clients instead of constantly chasing the next deal.

If you weren’t a mortgage lender, what career would you have pursued?
I’d still be drawn to consumer lending. It allows me to combine my diverse interests with direct engagement with people, rather than being stuck behind a screen all day.

Do you have a favorite quote or motto that guides your work?
“A life worth living might be measured in many ways, but the one way that stands above all others is living a life with no regrets.” – Gary Keller

What’s one thing you always keep in your office?
A picture of my nephew with his face painted like Pennywise from It. It’s a reminder to embrace my fears and push forward.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
My next big trip will be to either Australia or New Zealand!
